I’m playing with the idea of developing a theory that authors named Geoffrey are worth a read.
I read Introduction to Contemporary History right around the time it was becoming clear that America had won the Cold War. Its thesis, that imperialism combined with technology signaled the end of historiography, seemed appropriate at the time.
As it turns out, I think the thesis was understated. I’d like to read it again.
